“The future of comedy”
Kate Copstick, The Scotsman
In 2012, Alex commenced another transition in his career, which saw him bring his various YouTube characters, songs and stand-up comedy to life in a hilarious live stage solo show called ‘Alex Williamson and Friends’. This show sold out thirteen of thirteen shows in 2012, four shows at Adelaide Fringe Festival, all twenty-four of his Melbourne International Comedy Festival shows and eleven Sydney Comedy Festival shows (with two shows added at the 11th hour) in 2013. Alex went on to tour regional Australia as well as most capitals, leaving a trail of sold-out theatres in his wake, before heading on to the 2013 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where he was called “The future of comedy” by the most notorious reviewer in Scotland, The Scotsman’s Kate Copstick.
In February 2014 Alex shot his first feature film- Me & My Mates Vs The Zombie Apocalypse – in which he co-stars with Greg Fleet, released in July 2015.
