The Daily Telegraph
★★★★★ “The relentlessly hilarious 23-year-old has the chops of a much more seasoned performer, and the charisma of an inevitable star.”
TimeOut New York
Joel Creasey is Australia’s most lovingly acerbic, sassily sharp and charmingly controversial comic.
Joel started stand-up comedy at age 15 in his hometown of Perth, and a decade later his intelligent social and political observations, outrageous wit, pop-culture expertise and unrivalled story telling abilities have already made Australia’s ‘Crown Prince of Comedy’ one of the best known, hottest and most sought-after comedians in the world.
“Endlessly entertaining… the audience breathless with non-stop laughter”
Metro Magazine (NZ)
Joel first appeared at the 2010 Melbourne International Comedy Festival, where his relentlessly hilarious debut show was so successful that it ultimately earned him a nomination for the prestigious Best Newcomer Award. He is still on the record books as one of the youngest ever nominees.
Joel has unleashed his talent and proved his versatility by returning to the Melbourne Comedy International Festival multiple times to deliver to sell-out shows such as his incisive political masterpiece Political Animal in 2011, the highly outrageous Naked in 2012, his revenge comedy The Drama Captain in 2013 (which was performed at 24 consecutive sold out shows), 2014’s sharply observed celebration of our obsession with personal heroes in Rock God and his personal tour-de-force The Hurricane in 2015- all of which had sell-out seasons. He was also selected as the host of the Melbourne Comedy International Festival gala.
The mischievous and motor-mouthed comedian has delivered each of his ruthlessly witty sold-out shows to audiences across Australia, winning multiple award nominations and 5 star reviews in every city, with the Sydney Morning Herald gushing “he’s a confident storyteller – energetic, concise, but conversational – with a ruthless wit and an infectious oh-my-god enthusiasm.”
“He’s a f**king star! I love him!”
“A master raconteur”
The Advocate, New York
Already a firm favourite of audiences across Australia, cemented by playing festivals and big theatres nation-wide, Joel has toured internationally with the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow, and 2013 saw him head to the USA to make his debut in the New York Comedy Festival, where he opened for Joan Rivers who called him “A f*cking star”. In 2014, Joel returned to the USA with Rock God for the New York International Fringe Festival and again opened for Rivers at her personal request.
The New York Post named Rock God one of the top five events of the festival, calling it a “side-splittingly funny 70-minute display of stand-up that moves at a frantic pace per minute”, while TimeOut NYC noted Joel “has the chops of a much more seasoned performer, and the charisma of an inevitable star.”
Joel has performed extensively throughout Asia, the United Kingdom and in Montreal, Canada at the prestigious Just For Laughs festival. In 2014, he was trumpeted as “the highlight” of the Chevy Chase Gala by The Montreal Gazette. Joel returned to the Festival by invitation in 2015 to perform on the Alan Cummings Gala and host all the televised Just For Laughs specials produced for Network Ten Australia, including a compilation of the best “rude bits” of the festival’s history: Joel Creasey’s Comedy Offensive.

Affirming Just For Laughs’ love affair with Joel, in October 2015 they selected Joel to host their two hour Gala TV special featuring Sir Patrick Stewart, Neil Patrick Harris, Jane Lynch, Trevor Noah… and of course a spot from Joel himself!
Joel also won himself a new legion of fans in 2015 when he was one of the favourite and most outrageous contestants on Australia’s first season of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Joel’s stint was so successful he was selected to host a unique companion show to I’m A Celebrity titled I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here!
